TEHRAN – Iran exported $400 million of home appliances in the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21, 20203 to March 19, 2024), showing an 18.2 percent hike compared to a year earlier.
Giant steps were taken in the administration of the late President Ebrahim Raisi in line with developing this industry through the compilation of strategies, launching the Comprehensive Trade System, etc., the secretary general of the Iranian Home Appliances Producers’ Association said.
Omid Fazelinia added that 16.5 million different home appliances were produced in the country in 2022, and the number reached 19.5 million in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 19, 2024), showing an 18.2 percent hike compared to a year before.
Some 22.5 million home appliances are planned to be produced in the current year (started March 21, 2024), he stated, adding that it will mean this industry would witness 15 percent growth.
The domestically-manufactured home appliances have high quality and can compete with similar foreign ones in the global markets, he emphasized, according to IRNA.
